Rembrandt by Spode
The engravings for the Rembrandt design were begun in 1944 but were not completed for several years. By the time the pattern was ready for market just after World War II, it was the beginning of a recession in the USA so Rembrandt never reached its potential sales. The bold arrangement of flowers was printed in brown and colored in bright pigments underglaze. The pattern was retired in 1961, and in 1962 the engravings were utilized to produce the Blue Flowers pattern.
