Trophies by Spode

The Trophies pattern was produced in several versions with different borders. The four patterns are Trophies Nankin, Trophies Etruscan, Trophies Marble, and Trophies-Dagger. Trophies Nankin is the earliest of the patterns and was probably produced before 1800. The border is the same as that used for the Willow pattern. Trophies Etruscan is a later pattern that was introduced around 1825. Trophies Marble is known only on the Gadroon shape with the blossom tinted orange underglaze in the early Spode period before 1833. It was later produced in plain colors at the end of the 1800s and early 1900s. A 1955 version of Trophies Marble was produced with the name Madrid in onglaze red.

Trophies Dagger is also known as Trohpies Fitzhugh. The Trophies Fitzhugh pattern has arrangements of flowers rather than trophies in the centre. This pattern was reintroduced as one of the Regency Dresser Plates in Blue Room collection in the late 1990s. The design was also brought back as part of the Archive Collection in other colors.

When it comes to finding Spode that is difficult to find in stores near you, one of your best resources for acquiring the items you want are sites like Amazon, Etsy, Replacements and eBay, where there are a lot of wonderful finds still in the original boxes. We all receive those odd items as gifts that we have no need for and never use. Yet, one person's junk could be exactly the treasure you want.

Please Note: Not all Spode is safe for use in the microwave. Patterns with gold or platinum decorations around the rim should not be used in your microwave because microwaves can not pass through metal. If in doubt, use this simple test: Is this Utensil Safe for the Microwave?

I am thrilled! There are many more recipes then I expected. I am very excited since my husband often works late and I end up with sandwiches rather then making myself something to eat.. —Barbara Andersen, New York
