Villeroy & Boch Avarua
Avarua Available Directly From Villeroy & Boch — Introduced in 2022. The year is 1773. The British navigator James Cook discovers the island group later named after him during his voyage to the South Seas. Boasting a paradisal jungle and fascinating flora and fauna, the Cook archipelago, whose fifteen islands lie scattered across 250 km² of the Pacific Ocean, is an exclusive dream destination today that awakens wanderlust and promises indulgent moments of luxury. It’s hardly surprising that the exotic flair of these Pacific islands has now found its way into haute couture and interior design.
Inspired by this idyll, Villeroy & Boch Avarua bears the illustrious name of the capital of the Cook Islands: Avarua. Esprit d’aventure is the credo of this exclusive Signature collection with exquisite decoration and an opulent attitude that will attract all the attention — a homage to Captain Cook’s spirit of discovery and an invitation to make fine dining at home an exotic adventure.
Featuring intricate, artistic, natural-looking motifs of flowers, leaves and birds, this high-quality Avarua collection is made from the finest premium bone porcelain and has been designed with a decidedly soft and calm color scheme: elegant red flowers of the Gloriosa superba, mangroves and strelitzia leaves in various greens surrounded by color-coordinated hummingbirds, either on pure white porcelain or an all-over blue background. The modern Avarua design concept is rounded off by precious real gold detailing: delicate lines give the decoration a three-dimensional and very animated look.
Avarua transforms the dining table into an imaginative paradise where flora and fauna can unfold their beauty. Exquisite gift items such as a cake stand, porcelain jar or decorative bowl will impress anyone who loves sophisticated décors and distinguished interiors with an exotic touch.
Suitable for intimate or large-scale occasions and crafted from premium bone porcelain, this durable, hand-washing is recommended, and is not safe for use in the microwave because of the gold accents.
