Fire King Jade-ite by Anchor Hocking

Named for its opaque, pale-green color, the glassware known as Jadeite was first manufactured by McKee. Economical to produce, it became popular because it was durable, fashionable and inexpensive. In the 1930s a piece was often a giveaway in products like a bag of flour as an encouragement for consumers to buy additional pieces. The pale-green glassware was also produced by Jeannette Glass Company, which is credited with coining the term "Jadeite." By far the largest producer was the Anchor Hocking Company. In 1942, Anchor Hocking introduced the Fire-King line in several colors. The most popular color by far was what they called Jade-ite.
