Shopping for Microwave Safe Dinnerware
John Stymeist's trendsetting design debuted in 1986. A favorite of retailers and consumers, the line helped establish the new Lindt Stymeist Designs as a dinnerware supplier to be reckoned with. The simple design with unique color combinations set the standard for mix-and-match casual in the 1980s. Achieving the two-tone look wasn't easy. Designer John Stymeist thought his Japanese factory was using a laser to get the clean line between the colors. "We thought it was state-of-the-art technology," he said. Turns out the factory used a razor, not a laser, to achieve the two-tone finish. Despite years of fanfare and good sell-through, Colorways was discontinued in 1996 so Stymeist could concentrate on new designs. But thanks to customer demand, Colorways dinnerware was reintroduced in 1999. The pattern has become a prized collectible, especially because it is no longer produced as Lindt Stymeist is no longer producing any dinnerware. Microwave and dishwasher safe, as well as lead and cadmium free.
Lindt Stymeist Colorways was produced from 1986 to 1996, and then again from 1999 to 2006. If you need replacement or additional pieces for your Lindt Stymeist Colorways collection, monitor this page on a weekly basis for new listings.
