Microwave Cookies and Candy

Peanut Brittle
2 tbsp. light corn syrup
¼ cup sugar
2 pinches salt
1/3 cup (2 oz.) salted or unsalted peanuts
Place corn syrup in 2-cup liquid measure, scraping measuring spoon clean each time. Add sugar and salt. Mix well. Cook 1:15 minutes (_____) at 100% power. Add peanuts and mix thoroughly. Cook 1:15 minutes (_____) at 100% power.
1 tsp. butter
¼ tsp. vanilla
¼ tsp. baking soda
Add remaining ingredients. Stir quickly and thoroughly. Before brittle hardens, spread on buttered metal cookie sheet.* Let stand 5 minutes. Break into pieces and store in airtight jar.
*Do not use glass baking dish. Even tempered glass like Pyrex may break as candy hardens.
